> A mini crossword maker for adults. Type four to ten answers that mean something to you and someone, each with a short true note; the page lays them out as a crossing grid you can reshuffle, solve on screen and print for a card or a gift. One metered run writes fair clues from your notes.

## What is free
- The grid: a seeded, deterministic layout that places the most answers with the most crossings in the smallest, squarest box, then validates it (every run of letters is one answer, every answer joins the rest). The same answers and layout code always give the same grid.
- Layout choices: shuffle, go back to the previous layout, or pick the answer to start from.
- Page clues: each note with its answer blanked out; an answer with no note gets its first and last letters.
- Solving on screen with checking and reveal, a printable sheet with an upside-down answer key, and Markdown, JSON, text, SVG and PNG downloads.
- Three samples that replay saved clues.

## What is metered
- One task, write-clues, on gpt-terra: one clue per answer built only from that answer's note (a plain definition when there is no note), in a straight or playful style, plus a title and a one-sentence intro. The page checks every clue and keeps its own wherever a clue gives the answer away.

## House rules of every clue
- Only what your notes say: no added times, places, people, numbers, pronouns, judgements or outcomes.
- No cryptic wordplay and no answer, or part of one, inside its own clue.
